One of the Few: A Patented Soothing Formula for Sensitive Skin

Patented essence formula for sensitive skin

In skincare, “herbal formulas” are often treated as public domain—anyone can reference ancient texts, tweak ratios, and launch a new product.

Because of this, brands that genuinely invest in R&D face a harsh reality: a carefully developed formula can be copied within weeks of launch.

We refused to let that happen.

When developing our SenRelief B+3 Soothing Essence, we made a deliberate choice:

to pursue not just efficacy, but legal protection for our original work.

After three years of rigorous testing, data refinement, and technical documentation,

our proprietary herbal complex has been officially granted an invention patent issued by CNIPA (Patent No.: ZL202311057600.7).

Why apply in one of the world’s most competitive markets for herbal innovation?

Because this is where herbal skincare is most deeply rooted, widely applied—and fiercely contested.

As a result, the bar for granting an invention patent in this field is exceptionally high. It requires more than just “using herbs.” Applicants must demonstrate:

  • Novelty: The combination isn’t derived from classical texts or existing commercial formulas

  • Inventive step: The specific ratios produce a non-obvious, synergistic soothing effect

  • Verifiable efficacy: Scientific data (e.g., cellular or clinical studies) must support the claimed benefits

Industry observations consistently show that fewer than 10% of herbal skincare patent applications ultimately receive approval.

Most are rejected for lacking true technical innovation or robust evidence.

We spent three years completing cellular studies showing significant lab test results,

securing zero-irritation certification from Germany’s Dermatest®,

and meticulously documenting how each herb contributes to the formula’s mechanism—

before finally passing the examination.

We never use off-the-shelf factory formulas

Many skincare products on the market originate from manufacturers’ standard “formula libraries”—

brands simply rebrand and relaunch them.

These ready-made bases often contain stabilizers, fragrances, dyes, and high levels of preservatives

to suit mass production and long shelf life—not necessarily the needs of sensitive skin.

YHKCare chose a slower, more costly path: developing from scratch.

We collaborated closely with labs to test the purity, ratios, and synergy of each botanical extract,

insisting on removing every unnecessary additive:

no alcohol, no fragrance, no dyes, no mineral oil—

even common “hydration boosters” were included only if proven effective.

It is precisely this commitment to purity and purpose that makes the formula truly original

and worthy of invention patent protection.

What does this patent mean for you?

It means:

🔹 You’re using not just “another herbal essence,” but a legally protected, original formulation

🔹 Efficacy isn’t based on claims—it’s backed by repeatable, scientifically validated results

🔹 We invest in labs and patents, not large-scale advertising

More importantly,

it’s a promise:

We refuse to let genuine R&D become someone else’s commodity.

We know that in today’s skincare landscape,

the word “patent” is often overused—even distrusted.

But for YHKCare,

this is not a marketing tool.

It’s our accountability—to sensitive skin users, to our R&D team, and to our belief in honest formulation.
